Fello Oppo's check out the Ultimate Street Car Associations events this year. There's a sub3000lb, over 3000lb, and awd class for street legal cars of all stripes. 200 treadwear tires and 3 run groups A B C for different levels of experience and safety gear. Cost is about $500 for each weekend, but there's tons of run time for your dollar and you get to watch yourselves on TV later on.

$500 for a weekend?! Hope that includes hotel.
NASA usually runs me about $300/weekend (depending on the track).

The ones I've seen in Portland run about 400$-500$ for SCCA.

Yikes. Laguna Seca is the only track I've run that's $500/weekend.

I'll probably be going to the AROO club day in march, it's around $190 for a little over 2 hours of track time divided into 6 runs.

IT may be because PIR is a low income track and they need the funds to keep running. Laguna Seca is a big name famouse track so they can charge that much and get away with it. I would pay that much to drive Laguna Seca but id probably crash on the corkscrew.

do you need a separate membership to go. I know SCCA wants you to have one for theirs.

I almost did that once. Too hot over the last ridge with a car inside and went off straight off into the dirt and lightly kissed the tires.
Some poo came out.

Yeah from the times I drive it on Forza that turn always gets me. You come in blind and then its right there.

No, AROO (Alfa Romeo Owners of Oregon) events are more of a pure track day type format rather than a HPDE. You get a slight discount for being a member but it's only like a $20 difference.

Is it open to all makes or just Alfas? may be worth it just to come and watch if its closed to other makes.

And there is really no down side to registering late, I plan on waiting until the week of and looking at the weather forecast.

Yeah I really wouldn't want to go if it was raining.

Yeah but running against street cars in a decathalon format really makes for an interesting event.
